The Fair

We went to the Fair twice last week. First, the girls & I went on Tuesday with some friends from church. It was hot and crowded (kids got in for free, which didn't make a difference for us because our kids were free anyway...), but fun to see the animals. The best part was we got to ride an elephant for free!! We were showing the kids and the elephant guy asked us if we wanted to ride because there was a reporter that wanted to take pictures. We said "Of course!" Isabel, thankfully, was sleeping in the stroller and the ticket-booth lady offered to watch her. We had so much, we took Ryan back on Saturday. Here's a few pictures to highlight the fun.

As Ryan said "This was the best $5 we've ever spent!" She LOVED being a cowgirl, complete with "Heehaw!" and "Giddyup!" She thought she was the bomb and she was looking pretty darn cute!

Our whitey-white surfer girl...except she wouldn't stand up on the board.

Ryan and Mia coming down the HUGE slide. Her face was classic, a bit scared, but trying to enjoy. As soon as they stood up, she wanted to go again.

She went on a few rides all by herself and LOVED it. They were all the same, round & round and up & down type, but all with different themes (boats, ships, elephants). Here's the pirate ship and a big smile!!

When we rode the elephant for free, we decided we couldn't ask them to also take our picture:) But this is the one we rode.

We had another fun weekend. Friday night, we went to the Mormon Night at the Angels' Game. Isabel does NOT share my love of baseball and cried the whole time. We left after the 3rd inning. Mia liked all the food options and dancing to the music. Saturday, we went to the circus at the Anaheim Pond/Honda Center. We were in the suite from Ryan's work and it was awesome. We got the primetime-reserved parking spot and were 16 spots from the door. The suite was dead-center so it was great. Isabel slept for most of it and Mia loved the horses, clowns, and elephants. It was Ryan's first experience and he was super stoked. We didn't make it the whole time, but had lots of fun. Unfortunately, no pictures from either event:((

I think we need to go the ranch again! Samuel lives in his cowboy pants (jeans w/belt) with his shirt tucked in and black cowboy boots. I will take a picture. He thinks he's a cowboy!

I can't believe your fun week. It makes me tired just thinking about it. I love the surfer girl picture. It reminds me of a comment this week about my own "Tropicana girl" (not!). Ditto on the ranch idea. I mentioned it to AK a few weeks back and he's softening because he realizes how much fun it would be for the kiddos. Can you imagine all of the Stayner G-kiddos at the ranch. A) We would take over and B) it would be a riot!
